Pakisztán, szerelem, Vespa

Miközben Pakisztán utcáit elárasztják az olcsó kínai motorkerékpárok, a klasszikus Vespa robogók szerelmesei vért izzadva kutatnak pótalkatrészek után, hogy működőképesen tudják tartani régi járgányukat. A Piaggio olasz kétkerekűje volt a legnagyobb státuszszimbólum a hatvanas és hetvenes évek Pakisztánjában, csupán egy maréknyi ember engedhetett meg magának egy ilyen motorkerékpárt bicikli helyett. Az utóbbi két évtizedben robbanásszerűen növekedett a tulajdonosok száma. Többnyire olcsó, helyi összeszerelésű, kínai és japán járművek okoznak dugót Pakisztán utcáin, nagy részük harminc évnél is öregebb. Sok régi tulaj szerint vespásnak lenni Pakisztánban csak szerelemből lehet, mivel alig lehet eredeti pótalkatrészekhez jutni, és csak néhány szerelő ért ehhez a típushoz.
